SO EFFICIENT! TOP PICKS FOR BUYING MEAT IN BULK FOR THIS WEEK’S MENU!

When you're busy, you may not feel like going shopping for groceries. On top of that, there may not even be a supermarket nearby. Supermarkets tend to sell the same cuts of meat, and some don't even have a lot of fresh meat options. Because of this, the dinner menu can get repetitive... You may even go so far as to feel like you're stuck in a rut sometimes. That's what makes The Meat Guy such an attractive option! With such a wide variety of meat options, you can let your imagination run wild and have delicious meals every time! We also make sure to choose great suppliers producing top quality meats, so you can rest assured that your meat is safe and fresh!

There may also be some people who are concerned about the prices of online meats. Yes. The individual steaks may get a bit expensive, but buying the bigger chunks or blocks of meat cuts down the cost! For example: the individually cut 270g strip steaks are 1,260 yen each, while the 1-2kg block is 3,180yen. If you do the math, you'll get around 30% of savings from buying the block meat! Plus, you get free shipping for orders over 10,000 yen! That's why we highly recommend buying in bulk! Here are some of our top picks that can be used for buying in bulk at The Meat Guy. These are perfect for making a full week's menu!

BEEF AND PORK BLOCKS

These will for sure get you more bang for your buck compared to pre-cut steaks! Depending on which one you get, they can be up to 30% cheaper! We recommend thawing them halfway before cutting, so they’ll be easier to handle. Leave them in the fridge overnight, then cut based on what dish you’ll be using them for. Cut ‘em into cubes for curry, into thinner slices for steak, or even thinner slices for yakiniku!

RAW SAUSAGES

These sausages are great to have in the fridge. Once they’re thawed, you can simply fry or boil them for a quick and delicious breakfast or snack!
If you have a bit more time to spare, you can also use these as an ingredient for dishes like pot-au-feu, German potatoes, stewed tomatoes, etc.
The Meat Guy offers a wide range of original sausages, so we recommend trying them all out and seeing which flavor you like best!

GROUND MEAT

Ground meat is great for when you don't have much time to prep and cook. It doesn't take very long to cook, and the quality won't change even if you refreeze! If you think you can't finish a whole pack in one go, you can just divide, repack and refreeze the meat that you won't be cooking.
At The Meat Guy, you're not limited to just chicken, pork and beef. We also have ground lamb and even kangaroo!

CHICKEN MEAT

Chicken is one of our top recommendations for affordable and easy to cook meats! Just like ground meat, chicken can be cooked in a fairly short amount of time. We recommend cutting them into smaller bite-sized pieces after thawing, then seasoning, repacking, and storing so it's ready to cook the next time you need it!

TIME-SAVING ONE WEEK MEAL PREP RECOMMENDATIONS!

The meat you order from The Meat Guy will arrive frozen. For big blocks of meat, it takes around 2 to 3 days to thaw out in the refrigerator. If you want to cut the meat when it's half-thawed, you can leave it in the fridge overnight. It's easier to cut meat when it's half-thawed vs. when it's completely thawed.

When thawing, make sure to double-wrap the meat in a thick plastic bag and place it in either a tray or bowl to prevent any leakages. The original plastic bag that the meat comes in may have developed small holes due to friction during shipping. Double-wrapping the meat will allow for easier cleanup and less mess! Also, if you cut the meat into smaller pieces, divide them, then repack before refreezing, you won't have to spend as much time preparing your future meals. It saves time, AND is more hygienic!

After thawing minced meat, we recommend dividing it based on the dish you'll be using it for. After dividing, repack, then refreeze.
Thawed meat can be stored in the refrigerator for about 2 to 3 days. Cooking the meat will extend the shelf life for another 2 to 3 days.
