  • Q Are they packed in small pieces?
    A No, they are not. If you make them into smaller pieces, chop into small pieces after thawing. Then put them in container or zip bag while removing air as much as possible and freeze.
  • Q Does Grass-Fed Ground Beef contain Fat?
    A We mince lean and fat at once, so it contains fat. The Ratio is Lean 80% : Fat 20%
  • Q Does Ground Chicken contain skins?
    A No it does NOT.

Hamburgers!
I'll echo other reviewers: this ground beef makes the most delicious hamburgers. It might even make a great meat loaf. I'll have to give that a try.

Great Stew/Curry
As a kiwi, I love all lamb. This mince is a great for an Irish stew/Japanese curry or a good old fashioned lamb meat pattie hamburger. Highly recommended.

Ground Beef
I am a repeat and constant purchaser of the Ground Beef, it has become a staple in my kitchen. Because the red meat to fat ratio is 80/20, the beef doesn't get hard and it doesn't shrink when the fat melts. What is available in the local markets has a much higher fat content, so in fact you lose a lot of volume from the melting fat and the meat that is left gets very hard. Per gram this may be a little higher than what you pay in the local market, but is so much higher in quality and end result! I recommend that you switch to the Meat Guy ground beef for all your recipes, you will be very satisfied.

Perfect for Shepherd's Pie
Being from the UK and growing up on staples like Shepherd's Pie I tend to miss lamb in Japan sometimes (it's more associated with Hokkaido in the north). The 500g lamb mince makes 2 Shepherd's Pies, and each of those, made in a larger Pyrex dish, serves 2 people for 2 days (depending on appetite), so 8 meals in total. You get quite a bit of fat when cooked but that's normal for lamb and it isn't an excessive amount. The smell when cooking is wonderful! Of course you can use beef instead for a Cottage Pie but that isn't really the same...
