This little piggy went to market. Roasting suckling pigs is originally a recipe from Spain where it's called "Cochinillo". It is usually roasted, which makes the meat super  tender. 


A pig roast is good fun and with these little suckling pigs, really easy. You will be the star of the neighborhood with this guy on your grill! 


Serving Suggestion

Just thaw out the pig, season with whatever you have handy and score the skin to keep it from splitting. We used a charcoal barbecue for the one pictured, we loaded up the coals and one side and put the pig on the other. The hardest part was stopping everyone from trying to check on the pig every ten minutes. This one took about 3 hours and was falling off the bone tender.

Q. Thawing
A. Thaw the meat so that the surface temperature does not rise. Wrap the original packaging in a separate plastic bag and thaw it either in ice water or in the refrigerator.

Q. How long does it take to thaw?
A. About 2-4 days Thawing time will vary depending on the thawing method. Please plan the delivery date accordingly to allow for enough thawing time.

Q. What is the thawing time for natural thawing?
A. Natural thawing is not recommended. If left at room temperature for a long time, bacteria will grow on raw foods even if the inside is frozen. Therefore, The Meat Guy cannot answer how long natural thawing will take. m (_ _) m

Q. How much thawing/storage space would I need?
A. Please secure a space of about 30 x 12 x 42 (cm) or more in the refrigerator. If thawing in ice water, use a cooler box that has a space of about 30 x 12 x 42 (cm) or more.

Whole suckling piglet was fantastic. Defrosting was no problem following the provided instructions. Cooked for 5 hours over charcoal and came out amazing! Fed around 15 people.
