What Is Brisket?
Brisket is a cut of meat from the breast or lower chest of beef, it is pretty tough as steak. But it will get so tender if you cook it slowly with low heat. Rich in collagen, which makes the depth to the taste. It's so addictin'. In The U.S, typically a husband/father makes it from morning(it takes time) rubbing orginal spices in the meat. This time, we introduce The Meat Guy style Brisket.
Brisket Recipe Using a Dutch Oven
[INGREDIENTS]
・Beef Brisket: 800g
・Original Brisket Spice: 45g
・Original BBQ Sauce: about 120g 1/3 of a bottle
・Consommé: 2 cubes
・Hot Water: 500ml or more
[DIRECTIONS]
・Spread oil on Beef Brisket evenly. Add and rub Original Brisket Spice thoroughly.
・Dutch Oven, Skillet, and Oven work. (Frying pan or pot also works) ※This time, we use a duch oven.
・Fry it evenly until golden-brown. (Medium to High Heat)
・Once all sides are golden-brown, add half of water with consommé. Change to the Lowest-heat then put lid on.
・After 30min. check inside. Add more water if needed in order to keep the water level at 1/3 to half of meat.
・Every 30min. check inside. Keep cooking for 2hrs. ※When it reaches 1hr. flip meat up-side down.
・Check the texture of meat and keep cooking.
・After 2hrs. and 30min. if it is tender enough, add Original BBQ Sauce. (Cook for at least 2hrs. and 30min. to 3hrs.) Stir and mix remained water, fat-juice, and BBQ Sauce thoroughly in pot.
※Make sure water is not dried up then.
・Keep cooking on Lowest-heat, then coat meat with sauce evenly.
DONE! Meat is so tender and delicious after taking long to cook!
