The tenderloin filet is also known as eye fillet or simply as "fillet". It is the most tender part of beef and the filet mignons are cut from the tenderloins. When it comes to the classic wellington dish it has to be the tenderloin of beef.

Cut your own fillet mignons or prepare a real Beef Wellington! That's a preparation of the Chateaubriand coated with pâté and duxelles, which is then wrapped in puff pastry and baked in the oven.

Good meat bad cuterikinosaka2023/09/13I keep ordering filet steaks but ending up with uneven ends so I tried this larger cut. Not only was it an end piece, but it wasn’t even cut straight, so I only got two very small nice steaks out of it. Good taste though!
Nice Filet, Incorrect ShapeMika Clements2021/12/02Shape was inconsistent. This is not a great cut for a wellington, as it should be cut evenly to ensure even cooking. My meat was quite oblong , which caused some parts of the wellington to be overcooked.
