What is the difference between Jamon Serrano and Prosciutto? :The easy answer is: Jamon Serrano is from Spain, Prosciutto is from Italy.
Prosciutto is a low-salt ham that has been salted and aged with the skin on. On the other hand, Jamon Serrano is salted and aged in a without the skin, so the salt content is stronger than that of Prosciutto.

Thawing times will vary depending on the type of product, thawing method, size, etc.

Nothing particularly notable over what is available in many Japanese grocery stores but good and gets delivered to your door.
  • Rich Umami Flavor
A long time consumer of prosciutto, I've found most imported prosciutto in Japan to be much saltier than I'm used to - you can feel the salt crystals on your tongue with many brands here.

However, to my tongue, this Jamon Serrano has a subtler salt profile, and instead the rich umami meat flavor is what stands out. I didn't get much too much fat in my cut, either. All to my liking. Highly recommended with olive oil and fresh mozzarella.
