This is a Christmas staple in our house - baked with an orange marmalade/clove glaze, and served warm with a turkey roast, for breakfast, for endless sandwiches. Every year we count down the days until the ham delivery!

My reference point for reviewing this ham is the home-cooked smoked bone-in ham I grew up with in the USA, which was flavored with cloves (lots of cloves), mustard, and brown suger. I did not expect this honey ham to taste as good (or the same) as those home-cooked ones, but I was hoping it would be somewhat close, at least in texture, saltiness, and so on. I found the honey ham to be a little too salty and the texture to be a similar to that of processed meat. Of course, comparing this honey ham with home-cooked whole ham may not be fair.
On the positive side, the honey ham is a substantial block of meat, and it made some tasty grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. As recommended by the Meat Guy, I will bake a large portion of the ham with a honey-based glaze and see how that works.

A real, delicious ham at a reasonable price. Hard to find anything comparable in Tokyo in my experience. Had two of them thus far, and my wife and I love them. Excellent!

The best ham I have ever eaten in Japan. The flavor and texture is beyond that of an American ham. Enjoy while you can.
