Received this duck in the mail and, quite honestly, I thought it was going to be small. It wasn't. Big enough for two, no, but more than enough for one. Cooked exactly the same way as the previous review stated with a cold pan, render/sear fat, sear meat side and finish in the oven for about 6~8 minutes at 200c. Let sit while I used the delicious fat renderings to cook up some sliced potatoes for a side. I will certainly order some more in the near future.
Purchased a pair of these and they came out fantastic. Cut cross hatches into the fat and seasoned well with salt and pepper. Fat side down into a cold non-stick pan and slowly increased the heat until the fat rendered, sealed the other side, flipped them back over and finished in the oven. After resting they were perfectly rare and delicious. Highly recommended.
Huge fan of this. It's got a serious size to it even after cooking. My wife and I can't finish two, but there's no way we can split one. We tried that once and she growled at me like a dog when I tried to take her last piece.
I served this as one of the meat options during a very large, American styled holiday feast. It was prepared exactly as advised in the instructions, and came out perfectly! It was a huge hit, and all the guest raved about it.
It was a really nice cut, and I'll definitely order it again in the future, even though I think the ""delivery charge"" and handling fees are quite excessive. The overall ordering process was easy and flawless, however.
