How to Thaw

It takes a bit of time, but this method allows you to thaw while preserving the flavor and quality of the product.
To prevent any blood or meat juices from getting on other foods, place the product in a double plastic bag or in a container while thawing. As a general guideline, allow about 24 hours per 1kg (*).
Because the temperature difference between the exterior and the center of frozen meat remains small during thawing, the outflow of meat juices—which contain the meat’s umami—is minimized.
* The time required varies by type of meat, so please allow enough time to thaw.
