Believe it or not, this is very popular in Okinawa and used for plenty of dishes. Okinawans swear on the health benefits of pork head meat. Search the internet and you will find many interesting articles.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Mostly used for soups, skewers made from cheek meat etc. see below for a simple recipe.

1. Place the whole head in a large pot and cover with cold water.

2. Add the aromatic vegetables, crushed garlic cloves, salt, pepper and bay leaves.

3. Slowly boil then reduce and let simmer until the meat is fork tender This can take up to 3 hours or more.

THAWING

The thawing time depends on many factors such as size, weight, packaging, and type of meat.
