Domestic Wild Boar (Botan Niku) Loin Slices 150g
Product Description
Loin meat with quality fat from acorn-fed wild boar and a rich umami flavor.
We deliver natural wild boar meat raised on acorns and abundant natural blessings in the rich nature of Tsushima City, Nagasaki Prefecture.
This product is a special gem sourced directly from local Tsushima "matagi" (hunters) who know the mountains of Tsushima inside and out.
For wild game meat (gibier), quick and precise bleeding and processing after capture significantly affects the taste.
Because it is quickly and appropriately processed with expert skill, there is surprisingly no "gaminess" characteristic of wild boar meat; you can enjoy only its inherent clear umami and elegant aroma.
Characteristics of Loin Meat
Loin is the highest-grade cut of wild boar meat, offering the most beautiful balance of rich red meat umami and the smooth sweetness of the fat (white meat). Its fat has a lower melting point than pork, allowing a melting sweetness to spread in your mouth.
Delivered sliced for convenience and vacuum-frozen to lock in freshness.
The 150g (approx. 1-2 servings) portion is perfect for those trying gibier for the first time or for special meals for a small number of people.
How to Prepare
Simply Grilled with Salt and Pepper
To enjoy the natural flavor of the ingredients first, quickly grill it in a hot frying pan or on a griddle, then season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. You'll be surprised by the rich sweetness of the fat.
Classic Botan Nabe (Wild Boar Hot Pot)
Simmer it in a sweet and savory broth based on red miso or mixed miso, along with burdock root, green onions, and various mushrooms. The more it simmers, the more the wild boar fat melts into the soup, making the vegetables exceptionally delicious.
Unlike pork, wild boar loin is characterized by its resistance to hardening even when simmered.

Thorough cooking to the center is required: As this is natural wild meat, to prevent the risk of parasites and hepatitis E virus, never eat it raw and ensure it is thoroughly cooked to the center (a guideline is an internal temperature of 75°C for at least 1 minute).
-
Individual Differences: Since natural wild boars raised in the wild are used, there may be slight individual differences in meat quality and fat content depending on the time of capture, age, and gender. Please enjoy this unique flavor that only nature's bounty can offer.

THAWING
Thaw frozen products slowly at low temperatures.
If thawing in ice water, the recommended time-length is about 4 hours per kg.
If thawing in the refrigerator, it takes about 24 hours per kg.
You can thaw it while in the package, but the package may open during thawing, causing leakage, so we recommend double-bagging or thawing on a tray or bowl.
