Parpika is a favourite ingredient on European cookery. The bright red powder from dried peppers is much milder than cayenne pepper with a characteristic sweetness.

A main dish in Austria and Hungary, a stew called goulash, is mainly flavoured with paprika. In Eastern Europe people also use this spice for venison stews or soured cabbage and other vegetable dishes. In Spain, Mexico and Portugal cooks use it to flavour chorizo salami, fish stews and salt cod.
Paprika can be used for almost every dish also including chicken, lamb, potatoes or scrumbled eggs.
