Weisswürste (“white sausages”) are a specialty from Bavaria that taste much better than they look. They're made from a mixture of finely minced veal and back bacon stuffed into pork casings.
These guys are served warm, but as they're pre-cooked during production, they just need to be reheated slowly in a pot of hot salty water until they're warmed all the way through. That shouldn't take more than about 10 minutes.
We've asked our German stuff and they shared with us the secret of presenting these sausages beautifully. So if you want to serve weisswurst the traditional way, serve the sausages at the table still in the water. As side dishes, serve sweet Bavarian mustard, fresh pretzels, and, of course, German beer.
