Grass-fed beef, is beef that's cut from cattle that has been raised eating only grass. Allowing cattle to graze freely lessens the amount of stress that they experience.
Most of the meat that's readily available in Japanese supermarkets are grain-fed. This is also the case with Wagyu. Grain-fed beef is characterized by more marbling compared to grass-fed beef. As a result of the cattle being able to move more, grass-fed meat is leaner and meatier!
