What is the difference between Jamon Serrano and Prosciutto? :The easy answer is: Jamon Serrano is from Spain, Prosciutto is from Italy.
Prosciutto is a low-salt ham that has been salted and aged with the skin on. On the other hand, Jamon Serrano is salted and aged in a without the skin, so the salt content is stronger than that of Prosciutto.

Rich Umami Flavornakomaru2022/06/07A long time consumer of prosciutto, I've found most imported prosciutto in Japan to be much saltier than I'm used to - you can feel the salt crystals on your tongue with many brands here.
However, to my tongue, this Jamon Serrano has a subtler salt profile, and instead the rich umami meat flavor is what stands out. I didn't get much too much fat in my cut, either. All to my liking. Highly recommended with olive oil and fresh mozzarella.
