This type of strained yogurt is a thicker and easier to spread than the original greek strained yogurt. Very similar to creme fraiche and tastes somehow between sour cream and cream cheese. It comes with great health benefits (low in fat and carbs, full of protein and calcium). Labneh or strained yogurt, depends on how you want to call it adapts well to nearly every dish, pairing well with everything from greens and fruit to bread and our grilled meats.
Traditionally, labneh is eaten as a simple side dish or appetizer, spread onto pita bread, drizzled with olive oil, topped with mint leaves, and garnished with olives.
