A BBQ MUST-HAVE! ORIGINAL MEAT GUY SAUSAGES

A good barbecue needs a nice assortment of meat, veggies, seafood, drinks… AND SAUSAGES! The Meat Guy not only has a great selection of meat, but also 10 different kinds of original sausages! Today, we’ll be exploring some delicious sausage recipes and some of our sausage top picks!

THE MEAT GUY ORIGINAL SAUSAGE SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Our original sausages are 100% raw. Unlike typical supermarket sausages that usually undergo pre-boiling, heating, steaming or smoking, our sausages have not been cooked or heated from production to packaging. These typical procedures prolong the shelf-life of the sausages, but also trade off loss of flavor when heated. Moreover, some of the supermarket sausages even contain additives or preservatives to further lengthen the shelf-life. This is where our sausages stand out! We don’t use any preservatives, coloring agents or harmful chemicals in the production of our original sausages. Plus, we also use 100% pork intestine as casings, so you can enjoy the natural flavor and texture of the sausages.

To start off, simply thaw the sausages in the refrigerator for around half a day or more, then cook on a frying pan. No need to add oil! How simple is that? Cook slowly at low to medium heat, and wait until the skin starts to swell. Once it becomes a bit puffy, you can remove it from the heat and serve! Weighing in at about 100g each, these sausages are bigger than your average supermarket sausage. Of course, since it’s bigger, it’ll take more time to cook. But remember… Good things come to those who wait! And ooohhh boy, is this GOOD!

Beer-steamed Sausage and Vegetables (4 Servings)

Beer-steamed Sausage and Vegetables (4 Servings)

Put sliced onion (1 piece), sliced cabbage (4 leaves), raw sausage (4 pieces) into a Dutch oven, and pour beer over it (4 tablespoons), cover and cook at medium heat for 5 minutes, then low heat for 10 minutes. Remove the sausages from the top and season the veggies with salt and pepper as you like. The steam locks in all the juices inside the sausages. Elevate this recipe by adding some herbs before steaming to get a more aromatic finish!

Fancy German Potato (2-3 Servings)

Fancy German Potato (2-3 Servings)

In a skillet, add some olive oil (3 tbsp), peeled garlic (4 cloves), peeled potato cut into bite-sized pieces (1 piece, medium) and heat at medium heat. Fry or grill up a sausage separately, then cut into bite-sized pieces (1 piece). Once everything is nicely cooked, mix them together and season with some salt, pepper and herbs as you like. You can add some rosemary to the skillet to slightly flavor the oil and give it a nice aroma.

Dynamic Pot-au-feu (4 Servings)

Dynamic Pot-au-feu (4 Servings)

Start off by preparing a large-sized Dutch oven. Cut the following vegetables into quarters: large carrot (1 piece), cabbage (1/3 ball), onion (1 piece), as well as whatever other vegetables you’d like. Place all the vegetables in the Dutch oven along with the sausages (4 pieces), water (700ml), consommé (1 tsp), salt (1/2 tsp), and black pepper to taste. Cover and heat for about 20 minutes on medium to low heat. When the carrots are soft enough, it’s done! We also recommend boiling it with some rosemary and thyme if you like a more aromatic finish.
