Meat is no stranger to Japan. What with BBQ's, Yakiniku, Shabu-shabu, Yakitori, the list goes on... Sure you can get meat, but The Meat Guy brings you the items and those special cuts that you miss from back home. Every couple of months or so we send out a newsletter with tips on meat and highlights of a few products. We try to include an interesting story or two along with it.
If you would like to sign up please send an e-mail to news(at)themeatguy.jp with the word "subscribe" somewhere in the subject or body. To unsubscribe you can do the same. We will never give out your e-mail address.
Sorry the newsletter is only in English for now. |

Merry Christmas all and much thanks to everyone for keeping me busy these last few weeks watching turkeys waddle out the door. I have two things to point out this month; Christmas gifts and Christmas dinner.
I will be the first to admit that I am not the best person to consult regarding Christmas gift suggestions. My ineptness seems to work in both the giving and receiving end of the whole present exchange thing. My first four years in Japan I gave chopsticks to every single person on my list. I hoped that someone would realize that if they didn't like what I was sending, maybe it was because I didn't like what I was receiving. It didn't work. I still get socks and underwear every year. What I've always really wanted is one of those DIY beer brewing kits. Unfortunately everyone who knows me is of the opinion that I already have enough ample access to beer so I don't need buckets of it lying around the house. I think my wife might have something to do with spreading that information around. I will concede that it is possible she has a point thereca bit like giving a year's supply of chocolate to a fat guy.
