The Meat Guy's new and original premium delicatessen product line for our connoisseurs or for those who sometimes or often like to fine-dine at home. The Rossini style filet mignon premium set comes with 2pc 180g filet mignons and 2 slices of foie gras. The foie gras does perfectly fit on top of the filet mignon. The ideal 5 star candle light dinner for two. Don't forget the red wine.The filet mignon comes from the tenderloin, the most tender cut. We recommend medium rare for the beef for the best and exquisite results.

2x filet mignons (each approx. 180g)
2x pre-sliced foie gras (total approx. 60g)







First prepare the thawed filet mignons, rub in olive oil and use a small amount of our steak spice or salt and pepper if you want to keep it simple. Start on low heat and cook or grill on every side for a few minutes. After approx. 7 minutes finish of on high heat on each side for approx. 1 min. total. If you are unsure about the timings we recommend a meat thermometer. The filet mignon is very tender and we recommend medium rare for the best results.

For the sauce we recommend a balsamic vingegar reduction: Stir balsamic vinegar and honey together in a small saucepan and place over high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer until the vinegar mixture has reduced to 1/3 cup, about 10 minutes. Set the balsamic reduction aside. If you want you can add 3-4 slices of mushroom - that makes it look nice on top of the foie gras. See images.

Get the pre-sliced foie gras from the fridge and place on medium-high hot pan, sprinkle with salt and pepper, sear on each side for 1-2 min. Don't burn it! Now set foie gras on top of the filet mignon, top them with the sauce. Asparagus, blueberries, green beans or a tangerine make a great garnish.



Thaw the filet mignons overnight in the fridge. Do not place on the counter top. If you in a hurry you can place the sealed filet mignon packs into ice-water. They should be ready within a few hours. Thaw the foie gras in the fridge only and leave in the fridge until cooking. Do not leave foie gras in room temperature as it will become very soft and difficult to prepare.
